What is extOL?

UT Extension Online Learning is a learning management system, or "LMS", that houses and delivers online programming to the various learning audiences that the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and UT Extension serve across the state.

Based on the widely-accepted Moodle platform (used by over 33 million people world-wide), extOL has the infrastructure to support the efficient and practical online delivery of programming to a state-wide audience.

extOL programming includes:

  • Fee-based certifications (like the PSEP Private Applicator Initial Certification and the Domestic Kitchen Food Safety Certification)
  • Professional development in-services
  • Free online tutorials on Extension-related topics
  • Information technology and applications training
  • SUPER training
  • Just-in-time tutorials relating to job skills
  • ...and much more!

extOL is adding to its library of content every month, so if you don't see what you need this month, just keep checking back. If you have any programming requests, please feel free to email these to extol.support@tennessee.edu

Some of the benefits you can expect from extOL include:

  • Learning on your schedule at your convenience
  • Less "down time" to attend professional development in-services
  • Connecting with other professionals across the state on different topics and sharing solutions
  • Automated recordkeeping for employees of completed professional development training
  • Automated recordkeeping of pre- and post-test scores--and rosters
  • Engaging online learning modules that are relevant to you and your work for Extension
  • ...and much more!
